- 인천시립무용단 Incheon Metropolitan City Dance Theatre -

한국전통무용의 전승 및 재창조와 이 시대의 춤창작 활성화를 목표로 1981년에 창단된 인천시립무용단은 연 3회의 정기공연을 비롯해 다양한 기획공연과 해외공연 등으로 문화예술 창달에 앞장서고 있습니다. 전통과 창작을 아우르는 다양한 레퍼토리와 최고의 기량을 갖춘 단원들로 인천시립무용단은 한국을 대표하는 무용단으로 자리매김하였습니다.
인천시립무용단은 ‘글로벌인천’이라는 브랜드창출을 위해 고유한 한국춤의 바탕위에 세계성과 시대성을 가미한 창작 작업을 전개하고 있으며 동시에 우리 전통문화의 아름다움과 깊이 있는 예술세계를 전달하는데 주력하고 있습니다. 또한 ‘시민과 함께하는 무용단’으로서 관객 친화적 공연 개발과 댄스페스티벌 등의 다양한 프로젝트로 지역문화예술을 이끌고 있으며 나아가 춤 예술의 발전을 위해 적극 노력하고 있습니다. 앞으로도 인천시립무용단은 국내외 관객들에게 우리 춤의 아름다움을 전파하기 위해 최선을 다할 것입니다.

Incheon Metropolitan City Dance Theatre

Incheon Metropolitan City Dance Theatre was founded on April 1, 1981 to preserve and reproduce Korean traditional dance as well as to promote the development of original works. Since its establishment, it has staged more than 700 regular and special performances, thereby significantly shaping the cultural image of the region.
Incheon Metropolitan City Dance Theatre has an abundant repertory includes Korean traditional dance and newly created modern dance and highly talented dancers so that this organization make possible to improve Korean dance-culture itself.
And as a municipal dance theatre, Incheon Metropolitan City Dance Theatre is playing a central role in enhancing the cultural capability of Incheon, a gateway to Northeast Asia. It is the goal of this organization to perpetuate Korean traditional arts of the highest possible quality so that future generations will have the opportunity to appreciate this unique cultural heritage. The group will also continue to introduce the excellence of Korean culture to the world.
